Jesse Malone, P.E.

When did you join Malone-Wheeler? Technically in 2005, but I was an errand boy as early as 1996 running blue lines. I became an owner in 2016.

What is your alma mater? University of Colorado

Describe what you do at Malone-Wheeler? I am a Senior Project Manager (also known as El Capitan). I work to recognize project challenges early and quickly, taking steps to ensure that a project is completed on time and on budget.

What are your interests outside of the office? Long walks on the beach, bird hunting, motorcycles, swimming, and a high cholesterol diet. Carpe diem.

What should people know about you? The dimple on my face is homemade.

 

Danny R. Martin, P.E., R.P.L.S.

When did you join Malone-Wheeler? My professional career began in Austin in 1980. I joined Malone Wheeler Inc. in 2000.

What is your alma mater? I graduated from Texas A&M University in May 1973 with a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering. I am a registered professional land surveyor in the state of Texas.

Describe what you do at Malone-Wheeler? I am a senior project manager on residential, commercial and public projects.

What are your interests outside of the office? I like to do things with my family. I have been a jogger since 1986. I have a passion for deep sea fishing.

What should people know about you? I like my job because I like working with all the people that it takes to get a project completed.

 

Miki G. Martin, P.E.

What is your alma mater? University of Cincinnati

Describe what you do at Malone-Wheeler? Senior Project Engineer

What are your interests outside of the office? Spending time with family and friends, music, movie, sports.

What should people know about you? Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Lifelong Steelers fan. Also love the Spurs. Moved to Texas in 1981 after graduation and love it here.


Claudia Morlotti

When did you join Malone-Wheeler? 2015

What is your alma mater? The University of Texas at Austin

Describe what you do at Malone-Wheeler? Assist project managers with drainage, utility and stormwater management design, permitting process support and other construction phase services.

What are your interests outside of the office? Travel, music, movies.

What should people know about you? I'm always on the hunt for new restaurants between San Antonio and Austin.

Describe what you do at Malone-Wheeler? Support project managers with engineering design, permitting, and construction phase services. 

What are your interests outside of the office? Cycling (road, mountain, cyclocross), snowboarding, barbecuing, hiking, camping. 

What should people know about you? I have competed in many cyclocross and mountain bike races.

Philip Bouza

Describe what you do at Malone-Wheeler? Analyze and design storm sewer, waste water, water systems and roads.

What are your interests outside of the office? I enjoy going to the lake, fishing, camping, and being with friends.

What should people know about you? I have a dog named JAX.

David Trueblood

When did you join Malone-Wheeler? April, 2018

What is your alma mater? University of North Texas

Describe what you do at Malone-Wheeler? Construction Consultant for residential and commercial projects throughout Central Texas. Help coordinate pre-construction planning of infrastructure aspects for multiple residential and commercial developments. Assist coordination for the close-out phase, including documentation and acceptance of projects. Primary liaison between the Civil engineer, Developer/Owner, and surrounding city and county projects ranging from single/multi-family sites, commercial redevelopment sites.  Maintain compliance and record keeping for county and surrounding city’s regulatory systems.

What are your interests outside of the office? Quality family time is very important. I like to go camping in our small travel trailer and of course vacations to new locations around the country. Also, I enjoy going  to a few North Texas 'Mean Green" football games each year.

What should people know about you? I've been in the construction industry for over 18 years.

Richard Wheeler, P.E.

When did you join Malone-Wheeler? I helped create and establish Malone/Wheeler Inc. with my partner, Pete Malone, in October 1995. I have invested nearly half of my working career in the firm and plan to continue for several more years. 

What is your alma mater? I am a Class of '73 fightin' Texas Aggie. I also earned an MBA from UT Permian Basin in 1979. 

Describe what you do at Malone-Wheeler? I share overall responsibility for the conduct of all of the firm's consulting and business activities. I manage individual projects, particularly those that require involvement in politics at various levels of government to navigate the regulatory review and permitting processes. I work closely with our public and private sector clients to develop strategic plans for the implementation of their respective projects.

What are your interests outside of the office? My spouse and I breed sport horses for dressage and jumping. I enjoy hunting, boating, fishing and music. I am very active in my church. I work with an English bull terrier rescue group when time allows. 

What should people know about you? I have served as a school board trustee and board president for three terms. I have been president of a Property Owners Association and a Homeowners Association in different subdivisions. I have a distinct understanding of public issues and concerns and how those may impact project development. I am an accomplished public speaker and have made presentations to governmental bodies at all levels, as well as private interest groups. I enjoy the challenge of a complicated project that involves the development of engineering, financial, regulator and legal issue solutions in order to move forward to implementation.

What is your alma mater? The University of Texas at Austin

Describe what you do at Malone-Wheeler? Project Manager and Development Strategist/Consultant

What are your interests outside of the office? Family time is an important part of my outside the office time. I could spend every weekend on a lake playing with the family, friends and wakeboarding.

What should people know about you? I am one of the lucky few that enjoys their career and purposely picked it! I am an expert at campfires and it pains me that my wife and kids don't like them because they don't like smelling like smoke...

What are your interests outside of the office? Live music. Vacation on a cruise ship. Woodworking.

What should people know about you? I take pride in my work. If my name is affiliated with it, I want it to be accurate.

Describe what you do at Malone-Wheeler? I direct the accounting, marketing, and human resources functions at Malone/Wheeler.

What are your interests outside of the office? Enjoying Austin with my friends and family, and everything it has to offer. From catching a great show, discovering a cool hangout, I try to do it all!

What should people know about you? I am a native Peruvian, and I make an awesome ceviche and pisco sour!

Describe what you do at Malone-Wheeler? Senior Project Manager responsible for civil projects in the San Antonio area.

What are your interests outside of the office? Spending time with my wife of 10+ years and my kids, Maya, Jojo, and Aiden. I also enjoy barbecuing, and love the Cowboys, the Spurs, and the Astros. Also, woodworking, and anything that involves constructing and building with tools.

What are your interests outside of the office? Family, hiking and travel.

What should people know about you? Involved in development projects in Austin area for 36 years. Work has been in single family projects and site development projects for multifamily, retail, office, park, roadways, and industrial uses.

What should people know about you? I love to find and learn about, or acquire all types of new tech gadgets. I have always been fascinated with remote controlled vehicles, and own several.

Describe what you do at Malone-Wheeler? CAD Technician

What are your interests outside of the office? Gardening, playing poof, BBQ cook-offs, raising show rabbits and taking my Chevelle to car shows.

What should people know about you? I have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Aided Drafting and Design. I have spent most of my career in the civil drafting field but have also worked in the granite industry, detailing countertops as well as working in the electrical field for a couple of years.

What is your alma mater? I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a B.S. in Advertising.

Describe what you do at Malone-Wheeler? I'm the Jill of All Trades in the office, I help with everything from billing to training, fleet management, and everything in between.

What are your interests outside of the office? I have more hobbies than I can count. My favorites are racing drag boats, working on engines, welding, sewing and being in a band. Oh, and sprinkles!

What should people know about you? I am an extremely curious person and I am obsessed with learning new things. I'm excited to be at Malone/Wheeler and learn all there is to learn about Civil Engineering.
